Specification Sales Representative

SeaTac Lighting & Controls is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Specification Sales Representative to drive project specifications with architects, lighting designers, engineers, and design-build contractors throughout the Western Washington market. The ideal candidate understands the construction sales cycle, thrives in consultative selling environments, and has experience working with design professionals. Full-Time Specification Sales Representative responsible for influencing and securing lighting and lighting control specifications in commercial, healthcare, education, hospitality, and municipal projects throughout Western Washington.

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with:
    • Architects
    • Lighting Designers
    • Architects
    • Lighting Designers
    • Lighting Designers
  • Promote and secure lighting and lighting control specifications for represented manufacturers
  • Conduct product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and technical training sessions
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal quotations, project management, and distributor sales teams
  • Track project pipelines from design through award
  • Attend industry networking events (AIA, IES, trade shows)
  • Maintain CRM documentation of activity and project progress
  • Provide technical guidance on product selection, controls integration, and energy code compliance (WA State Energy Code)

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales experience in lighting, electrical, construction, or architectural products
  • Strong understanding of the commercial construction process
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally throughout Western Washington
  • Experience with lighting manufacturers’ rep agencies preferred
  • Existing relationships in the Seattle/Tacoma A&E community preferred
  • Knowledge of lighting controls and energy code compliance preferred

Compensation
$100,000–$125,000 salary
