John co-purchased SeaTac Lighting & Controls in February 2006 with his brother Jim.  Graduating in ’87, he was not interested in college but rather in jump-starting his career by going straight into distribution.  Those 15 years taught him a lot, from how to sweep floors to accounting, quotes, outside sales, and everything in between.  John had the amazingly good fortune of working with some of the most knowledgeable, hard working, successful individuals in our market as his teachers.  The 9/11 tragedy drove John to the realization that he needed follow his dream of owning the largest lighting agency in the Pacific Northwest.  Working as a manager for three years at the largest local agency gave him the experience needed to take over the smallest agency (SeaTac Lighting) and build it up into what it is today.  The hard work he put in through the years provided the additional education, opportunities, and relationships that established John as one of the leaders in the lighting industry.  John puts much of his energy into growing the business and ensuring that our customers and manufacturers are well taken care of at all times.  He works to maintain a positive work environment with healthy options.  John leads with a win/win, teamwork approach.  SeaTac Lighting strives on using a TEAM philosophy to manage projects, improving communication and forging closer working relationships between all of our manufacturers, distributors, and contractors.

Floyd Chapman ~ Specification Sales

Floyd’s career in sales started after graduating from Saint Martin’s University with a degree in Biology. Rising through the ranks of inside consumer sales, he left to pursue the world of outside sales. Now, in Specification Sales, Floyd draws upon his 9+ years of past sales experience to drive brand value for our company in lighting and controls. Outside of the office, Floyd manages his time with a family of four and a life in sports.

Alissa’s career started after graduating from Washington State University with a degree in Advertising. After working as an Account Executive for an advertising agency in Spokane, Alissa decided to take her marketing and account managing experience and move to Seattle to pursue a career in Outside Sales. Starting as Inside Sales Support and quickly moving into Quotations, Alissa learned the business from the inside-out her first year at SeaTac. In 2014 she was promoted to Outside Specification Sales where she currently works with a number of clients in the industry from architects and lighting designers to engineers. Outside of the office Alissa enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her three nieces and cheering on the Washington State Cougars.

MAURICE 4X6Maurice Dunn ~ Specification Sales

Maurice comes to Seatac Lighting with 13 years experience working for Consulting Engineering firms in the Greater Kansas City area while attending night school at Johnson County Community College.  His experience in the Manufacturers Representative market sector began with a 10 year stint at Mercer Zimmerman in Kansas City, and after relocation to the Pacific Northwest he has an additional 18 years as a representative.  His experience includes over 35 years in the IES, serving as Midwest Regional Membership Chair, IIDA Section Chair, IIDA Section Committee and was a past member of the NFPA.  Maurice has an extensive background in lighting control systems including specification, layout, troubleshooting, startups and owners trainings.  The last 8 years spent at Seatac Lighting have been rewarding and have been filled with opportunities in both the lighting sales role and the controls specialist role. Hobbies include Family time and interests in woodworking and vintage automobiles.

Patrick started at SeaTac Lighting in November 2014, switching fields from the insurance world. He is currently in outside specification sales, and is excited to be a part of and keep growing SeaTac lighting & Controls. Patrick Graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2013 with a degree in communications and also a minor in Business Administration. At Eastern, he was fortunate enough to be part of the 2010 Big Sky/Nation Championship football team.

Crystal has been with SeaTac Lighting & Controls since May 2016 as a Specification Sales Representative. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bellevue College in Interior Design and has worked both in that field and in Architectural Lighting Design. Her background helps make her a resource to the design community she regularly works with due to her familiarity with the expectations and processes that her customers tackle. She enjoys spending time on new projects in different offices each day as well as sharing lighting knowledge with others. When not working, Crystal is spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Jake came to SeaTac Lighting with four years of excellent sales and customer service experience with the highly praised Seattle based company, Nordstrom. Adding to his competitive work ethic, Jake also worked as a signed model for six years, working back and forth from Seattle to New York City. Working in outside sales, his goal is to build continuously strong, genuine client relationships. Eager to learn, Jake is excited to explore every venture lighting has to offer. He is very vibrant, creative, ambitious, and trustworthy. These attributes will make a great foundation when building his career and client relationships with a dedicated team here at SeaTac Lighting & Controls.

After nearly 10 years in Electrical Distribution Sales, Scott decided to focus on lighting and joined SeaTac Lighting and Controls in the summer of 2015. He felt this is a great opportunity to build strong partnerships with both Electrical Contractors and Distributors. He is excited to be a part of the industries growth and will help the SeaTac Lighting team continue to be a leader in the market. Scott is married and has two little girls. He also loves the outdoors and spends as much time hunting as he can.

After working as a Sales Executive for Harley Davidson of Seattle. Chad decided to make a move to Sea Tac lighting to pursue a career in Lighting. Starting in the Controls Department and moving his way to Quotes, Technical Support, and Customer Service Chad was offered a position to go to outside sales. Chad will now cover all of our distributors for stock and flow sales. Outside of the office Chads hobbies are cars, motorcycles, and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Ed has extensive experience and history in outdoor illumination, lighting & traffic standards and controls.  Ed specializes in streetscape illumination and emerging technology solutions for Transportation, Ports, Utility, Municipality, Developer and Park applications for our company.   He is involved with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Washington section and is their current Newsletter Editor.   We have the best team in the Region’s outdoor lighting industry and we work as one to provide customer support and satisfaction; which is paramount to achieving success in our industry.

Elena has intermittently worked at SeaTac Lighting for a combined total of five and a half years. She started back 2006 working summers as an administrative assistant while a high school student. She got familiar with the company and business by answering phones, filing paperwork, and assisting the staff and continued to do this until the summer of 2008. She then changed roles to an intern for the Roadway Specialist and attended customer meetings, gained product knowledge, and visited various job sites. In the fall of 2008 she left to attend the University of Washington. While attending UW she worked at a fine dining restaurant which taught her customer service skills. After graduating with a Bachelor degree in Geographic Information Systems she returned to SeaTac Lighting as the roadway project manager. She continued to gain product knowledge and build project management skills for two years before moving into Specification Sales. When she isn’t working you will find her outside no matter the season, at a sporting event, or working on an art project.

Rick Morrison ~ Alaska Sales

Rick Morrison is a Territory Sales Representative for Alaska with SeaTac Lighting and Controls.  Rick, a 42 year resident of Alaska, has partnered with many professionals in technical sales. Rick prides himself on being an advocate for his customers, bringing them valuable insights and impactful results.

Rick has worked for several great companies over the last 25 years, including Graybar Electric, GE Supply, and WW Grainger. This experience has helped Rick develop the skills required to help his clients reach their goals and to be someone they can count on; who takes the time to understand their business and is viewed as a true partner.

With 20 years in the lighting industry, Nicole has been at SeaTac Lighting & Controls as a Quotations Lead since January of 2007.  She brings a wealth of knowledge in multiple facets of commercial lighting and has worked for several representative agencies in both the Seattle and Portland markets.  She began her lighting career after attending Western Washington University for Interior Design.  She has held various roles within the industry including Technical Support, Customer Service, Project Management, and Quotations.  Her product knowledge, as well as the ability to form and maintain great relationships both customers and manufacturers has made her an invaluable asset to the company.  Outside of work, Nicole enjoys architecture, interior design, shopping, wine tasting, watching baseball, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Travis graduated from Northwest University and has his Master’s degree in Psychology.  He has joined our team in October 2012 and brings experience from the lighting industry. Shortly after marriage in 2000, he moved to California to start his career working for a distributor working on national account customers.  He moved back to Washington and worked for other rep agencies including Lightolier / Genlyte prior to the sale to Philips.  Outside the office, Travis enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, golfing, and spending time with his wife and four children.

Andy has a background in lighting, sound systems, and theatrical lighting and sound design.   Andy graduated from The Evergreen State College in 1995 with a Bachelor degree in Audio/Visual Systems and Sound Design.   He has a 14+ year career in the lighting industry and has worked previously for PNTA, Milligan & Associates & illuminating Resource doing system design and quotations for lighting systems.   Andy has worked at SeaTac since early in 2015 and enjoys working on both design build and specification projects.   In his free time, Andy likes to spend time with his family and dogs and to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and snowboarding.

Kalyn started working at SeaTac Lighting & Controls in March of 2013 after meeting a SeaTac Quotations Specialist through a mutual friend. She had recently worked in public relations after graduating with a Communications degree from Washington State University and was looking forward to a change of pace in the lighting industry. Having a few years experience in retail sales and public relations/communications during and after college, she started in the Customer Service Department and was eager to learn and advance within the company. Within her first year at SeaTac, she began taking on small projects and by July 2014, she went full time into Project Management at SeaTac. She enjoyed her time as a PM but thrived for more familiarity with fixtures and technical details, as she had her sights set on moving into inside or outside sales at some point. In January 2016, she moved into the Technical Support Department to gain product knowledge and learn the complete process of specifying and bidding jobs. After six months, she was ready for the move into Quotations/Inside Sales and has enjoyed that spot the most out of the other positions she’s held at SeaTac. In her free time, Kalyn enjoys happy hour with friends and coworkers, playing sports, traveling, visiting family in Montana and of course cheering on her favorite teams (Go Cougs!).

Brandon attended South Seattle Community College where he earned his Business Degree. While in college he maintained an honors GPA and was invited to join Phi Theta Kappa honor society. Another personal goal Brandon has achieved was to lose 150lbs and become a certified personal trainer. Brandon started out in the Technical support department in 2012 as an intern and was hired on full time a couple months later. He then moved over into the lighting controls department just over 2 years ago. He works with engineers, architects, contractors, distributors, and our own internal staff on quoting lighting controls. Chip started his career in the electrical business 20 years ago in distribution where he learned everything from warehouse operations to project sales.  After a move to Seattle Chip went to work as a factory rep for one of the oldest lighting companies in the US.  For the last 10+ years Chip has been with SeaTac Lighting & Controls and our sister company Blueridge Lighting & Controls in Beaverton, Oregon.  Chip has been happy to relocate to Portland since he is close to his children and 4 year old granddaughter!  Chip is an Oregon Duck fan and can be found on Saturdays rooting for the Ducks!  This was a tough year but we will be back!  Chip also enjoys riding his motorcycles whenever he can get away!

Kevin came to SeaTac Lighting in 2012 with 10 years of retail and customer service experience. With a passion for consumer electronics and technology, the transition to the lighting industry was natural. Kevin started out as an Assistant to the roadway team and after learning the ins and outs of roadway lighting, he was promoted to Quotations. With a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and in depth knowledge of LED’s and technology, Kevin is an asset to our team. Outside the office Kevin enjoys spending time with his fiance, building computers, and playing video games with friends.

Shannon Buckingham ~ Project Management Manager

After 18 years in the HVAC industry, Shannon came to SeaTac Lighting & Controls on the fast-track route to the Project Management Department. Her organizational and customer service skills helped her advance into the Project Management Manager position after only two years at SeaTac. She leads the Lighting, Controls and Roadway project managers in both Western and Eastern Washington markets. Shannon spends time fine-tuning the processes and training for the project management department and also works with SeaTac’s Project Manager, Distributors and Contractor’s to assist in the successful outcome of projects. One of SeaTac’s most tenured Project Managers, she has been a respected and successful member of the company and continues to build and maintain strong bonds with all of SeaTac’s customers. When she’s not working, you can find her hiking, camping, or spending time with her children and friends.

Aaron’s career started in 2009 in the retail industry where he gained one-one-one experience working with customers daily. Looking for a new challenge, Aaron found SeaTac Lighting in May 2014 and started as an assistant to the customer service department. He was quickly promoted to a customer service role after proving he was capable of taking on and managing his own accounts. He took a deeper interest in lighting after taking the beginner and intermediate lighting courses offered through the local design lab.  After one year in customer service Aaron moved his skillset to the technical support team where he supported the quotations and specification sales teams. From there he was promoted to Project Management in January of 2016. Aaron enjoys the family atmosphere that SeaTac provides him and is excited about what his future holds within the company. Aaron enjoys spending his time going out and taking full advantage of what our beautiful region has to offer. Whether it be taking a hike on the weekend or exploring the shops at Pike Place Market.

Andrew began his career with SeaTac Lighting in November of 2016.  Originally Wisconsin born and raised he attended college in Michigan and decided to begin his life after school was complete here in the Pacific Northwest.  Coming to us by way of the Automotive Industry in Distribution, Parts, Accessories and different varieties of Sales. He brings many great experiences and skills that correlate nicely into the lighting industry.  During non-work hours he is either working on home improvement projects or working on his cars.  He and his wife, Stephanie, have a 50lb Shepard/Lab Mix named “Coffee” and are welcoming a baby girl to the family in February 2017.

After graduating in ’95 with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a certificate in Computer Aided Drafting, Lynn began to produce shop drawings for pre-cast underground utility products; design and draft fire sprinkler systems, electrical building systems, and most recently, low voltage building systems.  Lynn joined SeaTac in September 2014 bringing to our lighting controls department a wide variety of skills including her attention to detail, thorough understanding of building construction plans, and extensive experience with AutoCAD and Revit.  Lynn systematically communicates with our quoters, project managers, sales staff, and management to gather missing information and to suggest or clarify design options in an effort to produce organized and coordinated shop drawing submittals.  Since joining SeaTac, Lynn has developed and implemented both CAD standards and drawing templates allowing the our team to assemble consistent lighting controls submittal packages.  Lynn also endeavors to expand and train the SeaTac controls CAD team to meet company expectations.  When she’s not in the office, Lynn can be found volunteering her time by serving on the board of directors for her homeowner’s association, or enjoying nature, music, reading, crafting and time with friends and family.

Just a year a from graduating at Washington State University with a Construction Management degree, Jaden is part of our Applications  Engineering department working remotely from Pullman, Washington. Jaden specializes with programs such as BlueBeam, AutoCad, Revit.

Amber came to SeaTac Lighting as the first hire when John and Jim acquired the company in February 2006. She started as a receptionist and then quickly showed her interest and skills in coordinating for the office and in account management and became the Office Manager the summer of 2006. Since then, as the company has progressed and grown, she has grown with it and become the Office Administrator and Controller. She works with her administration team to help keep the office and staff organized and taken care of. The family-style atmosphere and small business environment is what makes her truly love working with the “Borrelli Boys” and the staff here.  Outside of the office, Amber enjoys spending time with her son, husband and family pets.

Kayla hails from New England where she attended Smith College and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She has over 10 years of experience in hospitality/customer service with five years in Administration & Bookkeeping.  In 2015 she took a road trip across the country and settled down in Washington where she began working for Sea-Tac Lighting as the Receptionist and has since continued to expand her role in the administration department to start a new phase in accounting. In her free time Kayla enjoys taking in the sights, attending local events, baking, & hiking.
